Hybrid energy integration

Solar + BESS + Genset Integration in Pakistan

One coordinated operating strategy for solar PV, battery storage, diesel generators, utility supply and critical industrial loads—engineered around the actual equipment and electrical constraints of your site.

Every source needs a defined role

A successful hybrid system is governed by a control philosophy: when the battery charges or discharges, when a genset starts, how solar is limited, what happens during utility failure, and which conditions must be proven before breakers or operating modes change.

01

Operating philosophy

Define grid-connected, generator-supported, islanded, recovery and maintenance modes before software development begins.

02

Electrical constraints

Respect generator minimum loading, reverse-power protection, PCS limits, transformer capacity, breaker interlocks and critical-load priorities.

03

Control and visibility

Connect meters, inverters, BMS, PCS, generator controllers and switchgear through one testable EMS and SCADA layer.

Coordinated power ecosystem

Five systems. One operating picture.

JME develops the data map, control sequence, permissives, interlocks, alarms and operator interface needed to make mixed-source behavior understandable and maintainable.

What the integration can be engineered to do

Valley filling

Schedule charging during suitable load or tariff periods while preserving headroom for site contingencies.

Generator support

Coordinate solar and battery contribution without driving running generators outside approved loading limits.

Zero or limited export

Regulate controllable sources against point-of-coupling measurements where the installed equipment supports it.

Grid / island transitions

Map the permissives, source sequence and protection conditions for utility failure and restoration. Transfer performance depends on PCS and switchgear capabilities.

Load prioritization

Preserve critical loads through staged shedding or restoration when available generation and storage are constrained.

Field evidence

Engineered from site data, tested on real equipment

The integration process includes communication validation, point mapping, mode testing and operator confirmation—not only dashboard configuration.

Solar, BESS and genset integration FAQs

Can a BESS operate with both solar PV and diesel generators?

Yes, when the PCS modes, generator loading limits, protection scheme, metering and control sequence are compatible. The integration design must define how each source responds in every operating mode.

How do you prevent a generator from being underloaded?

The EMS can monitor generator power and regulate solar or battery behavior against an approved minimum-loading threshold. The exact response depends on the inverter, PCS and generator-controller interfaces available.

Can the system provide seamless transfer?

Only if the selected PCS, switchgear and protection architecture support the required transfer behavior. JME verifies equipment capability and designs the sequence accordingly rather than treating “seamless” as a universal software feature.

What is the difference between this page and BESS EPC integration?

This page focuses on multi-source operating logic and controls. The BESS EPC and integration page covers the broader selection, design, installation, testing and commissioning scope.

Can JME recover an existing hybrid system that is not working properly?

Yes. JME can review SLDs, controller logic, communication health, meters, alarms and field evidence, then propose a staged recovery or retrofit route. Use the system-review form to share photos, documents, voice notes or video.

Planning or recovering a hybrid-energy system?

Share the available SLD, equipment list and operating problem. JME will review the integration path for solar, BESS, generators, grid and plant loads.
