JME Engineering Tools
Industrial Energy Engineering Calculators
Practical preliminary tools for industrial EMS, BESS, PV–genset and generator applications. These tools are intended to help engineers understand the scale of a problem before detailed electrical, controls and protection engineering.
BESS Peak-Shaving Calculator
Estimate preliminary PCS power and battery energy for a defined peak period.
PV–Genset Minimum-Loading Calculator
Calculate solar headroom before the online genset group reaches minimum loading.
PV–Genset controller engineering → · Inverter compatibility →
BESS Backup Runtime Calculator
Estimate support time between starting SOC and reserve SOC.
Generator Load-Sharing Calculator
Estimate proportional load distribution across online gensets of different ratings.
BESS Peak-Shaving Sizing
Estimate the discharge power and battery energy required to reduce a defined site demand peak.
Inputs: current peak kW, target grid kW, peak duration, efficiency, usable DoD and design margin.
Outputs: required discharge kW, preliminary PCS power and estimated battery kWh.
BESS Backup Runtime
Estimate how long a battery can support a selected critical load between the starting SOC and reserve SOC.
Inputs: battery kWh, starting SOC, reserve SOC, discharge efficiency and critical-load kW.
Output: preliminary usable kWh and estimated support time.
PV–Genset Minimum-Loading Check
Estimate the solar contribution that can be accepted before the online generator group reaches a selected minimum-loading threshold.
Inputs: total online genset kW, selected minimum loading, plant load and solar output.
Outputs: minimum generator kW, preliminary solar headroom and curtailment indication.
Generator Load-Sharing Calculator
Planned next: check preliminary load distribution between online generators, including unequal ratings and minimum-loading limits.
This will support synchronization and common-bus engineering discussions before detailed controller configuration.
Important engineering limitation
Calculator results are preliminary only. Final BESS sizing, generator loading, protection, switching, transient performance and control limits must be verified against actual load profiles, OEM limits, PCS/genset operating modes, electrical protection and the complete site architecture.
